The White House has announced a 25% tariff on imported passenger vehicles, light trucks, and certain auto parts, effective April 2, 2025. However, for vehicles protected under the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA), only foreign-made parts (those not produced in these three countries) will be subject to the tariff.

How Will This Impact You?
After April 2, 2025, vehicle prices may increase, especially for imported models and those containing non-US-made components. However, at Marina, we currently have a large inventory, nearly 200 new and certified pre-owned vehicles—none of which will be affected by these tariffs or potential manufacturer price hikes.
According to a proclamation issued by President Trump, these tariffs will apply to automobiles entering for consumption or withdrawn from warehouses starting at 12:01 a.m. (ET) on April 3, 2025. Tariffs on certain auto parts will take effect no later than May 3, 2025, as specified in the Federal Register. These new tariffs are in addition to any existing duties, fees, and charges on imported automobiles and parts.
What Vehicles Will Be Affected?
Even vehicles assembled in the U.S. often contain foreign-made parts, which will be subject to tariffs. Currently, no vehicles are built or assembled with 100% U.S.-made components.
Stellantis, the parent company of Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, and RAM, relies on assembly plants in Mexico and Canada and is accelerating production and shipments to deliver as many vehicles as possible before the tariffs take effect.
Models not manufactured in the U.S. include:
- Chrysler: Pacifica
- Dodge: Charger Daytona
- Jeep: Compass, Wagoneer S
- RAM: Heavy Duty pickups, Promaster
